Bloodfast is a specialist logistics company with a heart offering 24/7 365
days emergency response for the delivery of blood and essential medical
supplies.
Bloodfast was founded by John Spinks in Hull in 1998 to help the local NHS
trust with transportation of urgent medical supplies vital to patient care.
The company has grown and now run as a not for profit organisation.
Essential supplies transported include blood, human tissue and donor
organs, biological samples, breast milk and medical instruments and
equipment.
Blood is carried for the daily operations between Hull Royal and Castle Hill
hospitals, the relevant BSU or directly into the operating theatres
themselves.
Specialist samples needing urgent analysis such as the first Covid sample to
Portland Down laboratory under strict safety and supervision is another role
of the company.
The Company also provides a service direct to HM Coroner covering the
removal of unfortunate victims or persons involved in traffic accidents or
suspicious circumstances or the dignified transport of autopsy samples for
investigation.
Bloodfast operates over the entire UK offering a Blue light service by its
employed and volunteer highly trained drivers.
Bloodfast still remembers its roots and still continues to operate a free
transport service for breast milk between hospitals and Cheshire Milk Bank.
So anytime you see a Bloodfast vehicle either rushing past on blue light or
on the road you can be assured it’s mission is to help those in need.
