Blue Light Weekend
Fun Walking Challenge

Saturday 7 June

Come join in the fun!

Entry fee £2.50 for adults.  £1.50 for children

The event is to raise local awareness and funds for this year’s Blue Light Weekend in August and we would ask you to look for you to get sponsored for taking part.

Our sponsor forms can be found on the website or collect from Boatshed, Holderness Hardware, Castle Café and Precious Prints.

(Dave, I dont understand what the sponsor forms are for if we are charging a ticket entry price?)

SO WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

You can choose either of 2 routes - it's not a race you just have to complete the distance and solve the clues to win prizes or just simple enjoy the walk.

THE ROUTES

5km (3 miles) route leaves The Old Boatshed at 12noon and heads along the old railway lines to the beautiful village of Hollym and the halfway point for refreshments at the Plough Inn.

For the kids there are free soft drinks available and for the older kids a fine selection of real ale to purchase!

Stay as long as you like but you should be back for the prizewinning ceremony at Boatshed at 4pm.

The 10km Route (6 miles) leaves The Old Boatshed at 11:30am and heads along the old railway lines to and though the tranquil Hollym Carrs meadow and woods then onwards to the beautiful village of Hollym and the halfway point for refreshments at the Plough Inn.

For the kids there are free soft drinks available and for the older kids a fine selection of real ale to purchase!

Stay as long as you like but you should be back for the prizewinner ceremony at Boatshed at 4pm.

(dave - you could mention there are EYMS buses back for those who are too refreshed!)

THE CHALLENGES

  • Fancy Dress is optional, but prizes will be given away to people who make the effort.

  • The routes are marked with direction arrows, and each has a letter on which where you rearrange spells a local word you will all know.
