The fun continues the week after Blue Light Weekend with a packed weekend of free activities for children at Hull Road playing field in Withernsea.
Taking place on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, the Kids’ Free Fun Weekend will feature Withernsea’s biggest-ever free kite festival, with families invited to bring along a kite and fill the sky with colour. The festival will run across both days, alongside the chance to meet representatives from the RNLI, police and fire service.
On Saturday morning, children can take part in a special activity trail between 10am and noon. Seven locations around Withernsea will host different challenges, including games, puzzles and hands-on activities. Anyone who collects all seven stamps will receive a small gift and be entered into a prize draw.
There will also be a treasure trail and obstacle course challenge, with every child who completes the course receiving a gift. Other free activities will include T-shirt designing, face painting, smoothies and mermaid cakes.
All activities are free. The Kids’ Weekend is sponsored by SSE Aldbrough, with the kite festival supported by Highfield Caravans Ltd and The Willows Holiday Park.
